Top Story is an exciting fast paced game that is actually 3 games in one. The Board Game uses colourful cartoon characters and colour coded words to build sentences. Each player collects word cards and makes sentences. Each word used in a sentence allows the player to race to the top storey of the house score card. Over one million sentence combinations are possible! Younger players start with fewer word cards and add to them gradually. Wild cards add an element of chance and make the game equally exciting for players of different ages.
Teach your child to read and write with games. Ideal for JK-Gr. 3 classrooms. Help your child to learn new words and to gain confidence! Use the word cards with the board game or on their own to make sentences.
This game has been tested in classrooms and is used to teach children reading, writing, spelling and grammar as they play the game. The cards are colour coded in green for verbs, blue for nouns, red for helper words, and yellow for descriptive words. Each card also has a cartoon character that matches the characters on the game board. The colour coding of words helps children to learn to read, write, spell and teaches grammar as they play. Children start with just a few words in each colour and add to them as they learn words.
