Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays to each of you!
In the last year I have been busy catching up with family and friends and writing my new book Making Writing Easy & Fun with Story Starters & Activity Pages. More about that in the New Year.
But today I want to talk to you about your own book- your personal Christmas Journal of all the Christmases or Holidays yet to come.
We all have many pictures on our personal devices but how about a special book of memories just of your special Holiday. It’s not hard and you and your family will love seeing all the past Christmases/Holidays in a single book. It is a little like a time capsule.
You can either make the book print or digital. The important thing is to start now and once a year to add to your book.
For a print book or digital book (which can later be printed).
Make sure all your pictures are high resolution. Small files like those on Facebook will not print well. Limit the number of photos to less than 20 for each year. Make sure to write a caption for each photo and name guests, presents, or have a description. Write a summary of what you did, who was there, special events, menu, cookies baked, favourite gifts, funny incidents and anything else that matters to you. Make sure to include each member of the family in photos including yourself.
-If you have a computer open a new file for Christmas/Holiday memories. Save your pictures in that file. Open a word document and add your comments for each picture, and the above mentioned headings. Save the document in the same file. Add to it each year.
-If you wish to make it a hand made table book use a scrap book and paste in your pictures with hand written or typed comments that you paste into your scrap book. This is a lot of fun if you want to get your younger children involved and is a great activity for the Christmas holidays. They will love choosing the pictures and adding their own comments and decorating each page. Of course you can do both digital and hand made.
You will enjoy looking at your book year by year as you look back on previous Christmases/Holidays.
Have a wonderful Christmas and a very Happy New Year!
Warm regards and have a happy day!
